This is the absolute worst part about collecting. And we believe it can be better.

BEFORE READING ANY FURTHER

 

Understand that all payments for the sale of your items are sent to you via E-transfer. 

We never ask for any banking info. All we need is an email address.

If you do not have your email linked to your bank account you will have to set it up.

If  you need help with this, speak to your local branch.

 

We spent a lot of time creating a consignment program the collecting industry has never seen before. At Canadian Graded Comics we are collectors just like you. We like the investment upside to collecting. As you may know from experience. A lot of buyers want to buy items dirt cheap, and they have no problem giving you a ridiculous low ball offer. We don't bother with these buyers. Our followers are buyers like us. They know what the collectible is worth, and they are willing to pay for it. 

 

We are not a pawn shop we do not take advantage of people. We want you to receive the highest possible amount for your items. 

We take a more personalized, financial management approach. We consider your items as a investment portfolio. Where other consigners measure their success based on a successful sale of your item. We measure our success based on your return for your investment on your item. 

 

You have total control. We take the time to listen to your needs and requests. You let us know what you would  like to sell and the price. You ultimately advise us the selling strategy you want to take. You can choose to go with our system or come up with one of your own.  

 

In order to be able to offer the lowest fees in the industry, we have to set a $150 minimum value per item to qualify for consignment. If comparable items haven't recently sold for at least $130 your item will not qualify. Every item requires the same amount of time to process.  To keep the cost of our fees as low as possible, we can't afford to spend time on low value items. We also have our reputation based on high end items. Our followers know everything is graded. They come to the site knowing they are going to be spending  a couple hundred bucks. This helps us attract high end repeat buyers.  We can recommend other consignment programs that are best suited for comic sellers and other consigners for low value PSA items. 

 

Your item has to be professionally graded.

Your item does not have to be graded by CGC or PSA. We accept other graders.  

 

 

STORAGE

SECURITY YOU CAN TRUST

 

We designed an ultra low overhead yet the most secure consignment program there is. By not having a physical store, we have eliminated the most expensive part of the business. A physical store also requires full time staff to be present increasing overhead costs further. This also gives you comfort knowing no one handles your items but us. This also us to have a small office to run the business. With the high overhead eliminated we can comfortably afford the most secure storage possible. 

 

We take our responsibility very seriously when taking care of your items. We do not disclose the location of the items for security purposes. We can tell you the items are stored in the same facility where gold bullion is stored, and is under 24/7 watch. We pay for multiple lock boxes.  We add more as we grow.  2 keys are required to access the lock box. One key that we have and the other key is kept with the vault manger. The vault manager confirms the lock box belongs to us. They also confirm the identity of the box holder before unlocking.  

 

This is a level of security that no one in the industry can offer with the same fees. And to be perfectly honest. We don't want to have to stress over your high value collectibles being stolen, even if they are insured. We want to enjoy the hobby.

 

For more peace of mind your items are covered under Canadian Graded Comics insurance policy while in our possession.

When we receive your items we take a video of the box opening to have available in case any damaged occurred during shipping. It will make the insurance process very easy. We have never shipped or received an item that was damaged in shipping. We still always prepare for it, regardless.  We will update the website the first time it happens.

SHIPPING 

 

Sending Canadian Graded Comics Your Item: 

 

To insure the security of your items. We have all items sent to a P.O. Box. This means you have to send it to us through

Canada Post ONLY

By having the items sent to a P.O. Box, the item stays in procession of the post office until we claim it. 

 

YOU ARE RESPOSIBLE FOR

Securely packing the item. If your item is high value. You are best to buy a heavy cardboard shipping box the appropriate size and some bubble wrap.

 

-Place the item between two pieces of flat cardboard

-Tape the cardboard together to help lock the item in place.

-Bubble wrap the cardboard sandwich enough so there is no empty space in the box

-You can loosely ball up news paper to pack the voids if your low on bubble wrap.

-This will help prevent damage if the package gets dropped during shipping

-Send the package through your local Canada Post. 

 

It is up to you to send the package with tracking and insurance. We recommend at the very minimum to go with Canada Post Expedited Shipping with tracking and the standard $100 insurance. It is pretty much the same cost as regular parcel in most cases.

 

We have never had an issue with shipping. We will update the site when we do. No lost packages and no damaged packages ever. It is important to plan for for the worst case to help protect your investment, regardless. We recommend you purchase additional insurance on items over $250.

Canadian Graded Comics is not responsible for any lost or damage packages for shipments sent to us.

 

When your item sells. We get the item from the vault and ship it to the buyer.

Shipments to buyers from Canadian Graded Comics are covered by us.

We send all our shipments with tracking.

 

We will email you the tracking number after the item ships to the buyer. You can track your item while it is on its way to the new buyer, if you desire. We also do this because, payment for your item is sent 24 HRS after the buyer receives the item. If you feel payment is taking a long time. You will be able to see your item is still in delivery.  The buyer of your item has 24 HRS to report if your item was damaged in shipping. This has never happened, and we will update the site when it does. But we prepare for it. Our insurance covers your item when it is shipped to the buyer. 

 

SELLING

 

At Canadian Graded Comics you have the flexibility to create your own sales plan.

You Set The Price.

You can use our standard plan or adjust it however you prefer. 

Our Plan

 

Selling a collectible should be taken seriously. Unlike other consignment programs that auction consigners items with a low starting bid and guarantee first week sale, we do the opposite. You only have one shot at getting top dollar. Getting top dollar for your item could take time.

 

We can give you an estimate of a realistic selling price. But you set the price. We want you to get as much possible value for your item as possible. If you want to lower price for a quick sell we can advise you how high of a price you can get for a quick sale. But we always say "Patience pays best" We advise against doing a $1 starting bid auction.  

 

Realistic Expectations

 

We handle all questions and inquiries for you item

Some items will sell in the first week

Most Items sell in the first month

For top dollar some items can take a couple months to sell

For highly sought after items. We start a 10 day auction on Ebay before we list the item on our site.

For most items we will list the item the same time we start the auction.

We add 20% to the price on Ebay to cover their fees. 

If the item doesn't sell we relist the auction 2 more times. So your item is on the auction bock for 1 month.

Ebay is mostly for exposure, by seeing the item there most people know to buy direct from us to save.

Our followers know our policies. They know if an Item is on Ebay under Canadian Graded Comics. Buying direct saves 20%

*** Once an item receives a bid on Ebay. You can no longer request to have the item sent back to you ***

*** If you want to cancel the sale before the buyer pays, you need to request to do so ***

*** Cancellation requests must be made at least 48hrs before the auction closes ***

*** Once the buyer pays for the item, it is no longer yours ***

*** You can request to have your item sent back to you at anytime, you just pay the return shipping ***

*** If your item hasn't sold in 2 months and you priced the item with our recommended price,

 In this case, We will pay the return shipping, if the item is requested to be sent back to you ***

 

If you want to try a different strategy, you have the flexibility to change it however you like. You don't have to do an auction. You can do Buy It Now only. You can decide to have offers turned on or off. You can adjust the auction time to 7 days. We recommend a 10 day auction to give your item as much time as possible to be viewed. We do comics auctions on Thursday nights, and Graded Cards on Sunday nights.

 

 

PAYMENTS TO YOU

 

We do not guarantee sales. If your items sells on Ebay and the buyer doesn't pay. We do not cover the sale. Your item does not ship until payment is received. It is very rare for someone not to honor their bid. However, this is something we have experienced. Anyone that does not pay on Ebay gets blocked from being able to buy from us. We don't have repeat offenders.  

 

Once we receive payment for your item we ship it to the buyer next day. We will send you the tracking number, so you can track the shipment to the buyer if you desire. 24 HRS after the buyer receives the item. We send you your payment minus our fee  via E-transfer the same day.  All we need to send you payment is your email address that is linked to your bank account. If your email is not linked to your bank account. You will need to set it up before we can send payments. 

E-transfer via email only. No cash. No Cheques.

If you choose to donate 1% or 2% of the sale of your item. Canadian Graded Comics will match the donation. 

We will also advertise "A portion of the sale of this item will be donated to Ontario SPCA"

This does give an incentive to buyers to select your item.  You are under no obligation to donate. We do not believe in pushy guilt tactics. We will never ask or make you feel uncomfortable to donate.
